We are currently seeking a Beekeeper for a leading Arabian business based in Muscat, Oman who will be responsible for overseeing all beekeeping tasks, planning and organization of honey production for the business. The client is a large multinational group and as part of their extensive holdings, they own and run a modern progressive mixed farm in country delivering the highest standard organic produce. They have a state-of-the-art livestock facility for their pedigree cows, milking goats, pedigree sheep, and poultry operations. Additionally, they operate a varied horticulture and fruit operation consisting of various fresh produce products and growing systems, all to the highest organic standards. Their planting areas are supported by their own growing apiary, and they operate a self-sustaining and growing operation. From their onsite accommodation, onsite laboratory, cold storage, and processing facilities, the farm is dynamic and continually evolving into operations all backed up by onsite training and staff support.
Key Elements of the Role:
* Take charge of all beekeeping tasks, ensuring the well-being and productivity of our bee colonies.
* Strategize and execute plans for honey production, maintaining optimal hive conditions for maximum yield.
* Construct and maintain beehives, keeping them in top condition to support healthy bee populations.
* Regularly inspect hives to safeguard against parasites and diseases, adhering strictly to biosecurity protocols.
* Collaborate closely with the Crop Manager to fulfil pollination requirements across the farm.
* Uphold the highest standards of apiary maintenance, following company protocols to ensure cleanliness and efficiency.
* Promote genetic diversity within our hives, coordinating efforts with fellow beekeepers to achieve this vital goal.
What We Want to See From You:
• Diploma in Agriculture or equivalent field.
• Demonstrated experience and expertise in beekeeping practices.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
• Commitment to following biosecurity protocols and maintaining high standards of farm hygiene.
