Asset Support Engineer
Starting Salary: £36,525
About the role
Here at Babcock International we're looking for an Asset Support Engineer to join us at HMNB Devonport, one of the largest naval bases in Western Europe. We're a key strategic partner to our customers; the MOD and the Royal Navy. We ensure that the UK Royal Navy goes to sea safely by supporting them in Devonport and around the world, delivering complex ship and submarine sustainment programmes and applying our core strengths of technology and expertise to sustain critical and complex assets to help maintain national security.
The infrastructure directorate is seeking to develop asset management principles and practices in line with ISO55000 best practice. To support this, there is a need to recruit an Asset Support Engineer to aid development and implementation of these processes and practices.
The main purpose of this role is to support the Asset Manager(s) through development and implementation of Asset Management Plan(s), you will focus on gathering and sorting data, collected from various sources, and compiling it in a format usable for the AMP.
What do I need to do the role?
- Submarine Quality Assurance Course
- Relevant engineering degree, recognised professional status or significant experience in a relevant engineering discipline
- Data management of facility operations, asset maintenance and management.
- Experience in database management systems (Maximo/IFS etc.).
- Experience in interrogating data from significant/complex infrastructure projects and presenting in usable formats.
What else do I need to know?
The successful candidate will need to satisfy Ministry of Defence security requirements. This may require you to hold or be eligible/capable of achieving 'Security Check' (SC) clearance.
