Our client are undergoing a period of sustained, organic growth. The production team consists of circa 130 individuals, and they’re currently investing over £1m in 2024, with a site expansion on the way, as well as new kit. Now could be an excellent time to join the team. Indeed the business are currently turning over £30m and have ambitious plans to increase that to £40m.
ROLE
Purpose
This role is to manage their goods in and goods out process on the early shift, where you will be responsible for managing circa 20 individuals. You will be responsible for all team members working in the low-risk area. You will be responsible for maintaining standards of quality, hygiene and safety throughout the low-risk area. You will manage Goods In and the dispatch area. You will be responsible for motivating and developing your team, working towards targets for quality, wages, waste, and consumption. You will maintain control throughout the entire low risk workforce, this can be achieved by utilising that chain of command effectively and working closely with the team leaders and the management team.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor progress of team members, identify training requirements and implementation of training
Maintain discipline throughout the team, monitor and develop the performance of team members
Manage staff levels to ensure adequate cover is available to cover your on your shift
Take control of the goods in area and monitor Use By dates and implement good stock rotation
Ensure the daily stock up is carried out by your team correctly and accurately and any shortages reported
Take control of sterilising room and goods in area. Ensure all deliveries are received and checked.
Manage the despatch area and ensure that orders are picked and packed accurately
To ensure all paperwork is completed accurately and fully
Identify improvements and problems quickly and take effective action to resolve them.
To monitor and work to improve Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)
CANDIDATE
- Experience in a warehouse environment managing goods in goods out, ideally within the food manufacturing sector
- Food Safety and Hygiene knowledge desirable
- Good attitude to work, self-starter, ambitious and wants to progress
