Salary: Circa £50,000 per annum depending on experience and location

Location: South East based. Hybrid role with frequent travel across for client and internal meetings.

What you’ll be doing

We’re looking for an Employee Relations (ER) Specialist to join our expanding ER team. You will deliver a high quality and professional service to our clients and support the People Partnering team to provide expert advice and guidance in relation to employee relations and change activities. This includes the application of employment law in a range of workplace scenarios.

You will ensure ER cases are handled efficiently and in a commercial and compliant way to ensure our clients feel well-supported with challenging ER issues. In addition to this, you will also be responsible for the following:

* Competently and efficiently investigating and/or advising on a range of complex ER cases (e.g. grievance, disciplinary, whistleblowing, bullying and harassment), ensuring our clients achieve the best possible outcome.

* Leading and advising on business change processes, including redundancy, restructuring and TUPE to manage risk for our clients and ensure they take commercial but compliant routes when navigating the relevant processes.

* Drafting policies, procedures and contracts of employment to provide transparency and clarity in the employment relationship.

* Attending and/or chairing meetings to support our clients.

* Drafting ER documentation of mixed complexity in response to various ER activities, including invite letters, scripts, outcome letters, policies and procedures, employee handbooks, contracts of employment, and detailed reports.

* Seeking external advice and support when necessary to ensure our work is thorough and accurate.

* Sharing knowledge and developing internal resources to ensure our People Partnering team has the tools to provide an exceptional service to our clients.

* Keeping up to date with employment law legislation and tribunal case studies.

About you

You will have previous experience supporting and advising managers on complex ER cases up to and including employment tribunals, drafting policies and procedures and managing business change processes such as TUPE, redundancies and restructuring. You will be able to implement HR principles and UK employment law and draw on your experience to deliver commercially focused results for our clients. In addition to this, you will have the following:

* A level 7 CIPD qualification, employment law qualification, or equivalent.

* Experience in undertaking complex ER investigations.

* Significant experience in supporting and advising managers in a range of workplace scenarios including discipline, grievance, performance, absence, redundancy, TUPE and restructuring.

* The ability to identify the risks associated with taking different courses of action while knowing when to seek appropriate advice.

* Excellent written and spoken English, with experience in drafting detailed reports and outcome letters which are well structured and effectively pull together a broad set of data to convey robust arguments.

* Strong consulting, communication and influencing skills, including confidence in managing key stakeholders.

* Ability to review your colleagues’ work and provide feedback and direction.

* Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word.

* A UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly to visit clients.
