Newark Area- accessible from Mansfield, Nottingham and Newark on Trent.
c£24-£27k P.A
Hours: 39 hours per week, 8.00am - 4.30 pm Mon-Thurs, 8.00am - 3.30pm Friday

We are currently looking for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join a busy engineering company in the Newark area. Due to location, you will need to drive and have your own transport.

The duties of the role will include:

Reading engineering drawings
Assembling and testing hydraulic cylinders and pumps from point of sub-assemblies to the finished item
Operating air tools/ manual lathes/ pillar drills
Using manual measuring equipment and hand tools
Fault finding on equipment
Performing quality assurance and pressure testing checks
Carrying out other tasks and duties as requiredThe ideal candidate for the role of Mechanical Fitter will have previous assembly experience within an engineering environment as well as:

Knowledge and use of a manual lathes / Pillar drills
Some knowledge of hydraulics however not a necessity
A flexible approach toward the role is essential
The ability to work under their own initiative and as part of a team
Ability to work with engineers to solve problems
