Entering Year 2 of their 3-year strategic plan; it’s an exciting time for the Board of Trustees, Senior Leadership team, staff and volunteers to shape the future of service delivery for the local community it serves.
As it reaches beyond and across the North East with its Professional Model of service delivery showing steady growth. The SLT consists of a brilliant CEO, Business Development Manager, Training & Development Manager and Operations Manager.
They have 35 staff and 3 working in finance. The CEO has built a purely holistic approach to work and goes the extra mile maintaining a happy, thriving culture for staff members.

The Opportunity:
For this Finance Manager, you will report to the CEO and play a key strategic role as part of the Senior Leadership team. The offices are beautiful.
Some of the key responsibilities for this successful person would be but no limited to:
* You will operate at a strategic level and partner with the Board of Trustees as their new “trusted advisor” for finance.
* Managing a small core finance team and oversee the day-to-day financial activities within the company, across payroll, debtors, creditors, and banking.
* Be responsible for Budget and Forecasting, Management Accounts, Taxation, and all income streams incl. Grant Funding.
* Produce and prepare Annual Budgets and Cost Scenarios for the Board of Trustees, CEO and SLT and host monthly finance reviews with the Senior Leadership team.
* Ensuring all statutory and regulatory requirements are met, Companies House and the Charity Commission.
* Be the key contact for auditing, and other financial needs and will track the company’s financial status and performance to identify areas for potential improvement.
* Be responsible for the management of the Charities assets, IT and quality assurance systems and ensure they are compliant in all areas of risk, governance and business.
* Write and/or contribute to the writing of tenders and grant applications and where needed collate information to aid the reporting requirements of funders.
* Liaise with their IT provider to ensure Cyber Security integrity measures are in place.
* As GDPR Lead, keep up-to-date with ICO registration and guidance and overseeing a robust Data Breach register, ensuring all staff are trained annual.
* To ensure timely payroll data is prepared, checked and processed prior to submission to third party provider and import this to into Sage via journal entry.
The Candidate:
This successful Finance Manager will be/have:
This person will need to have a good understanding of the political and funding landscape and be able to form good stakeholder relationships.
* Qualified by Experience (QBE), Part or Qualified Accountant - (ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA).
* Charity, Not-for-Profit, Third sector or relatable sector experience.
* Either ready to step up into a Finance Manager position or embark on your first time in managing a small team or already be a Finance Manager seeking a fresh challenge.
* Have exposure to management accounts, other financial analysis, and commentary to support informed business decisions.
* Comfortable partnering with a Leadership team, Trustees and across teams.
* Real life skills and a maturity to do good is vital.
* An inquiring, curios mind and be analytical mind with excellent numeracy skills, diligence, and time management skills are essential.
* Exposure to Sage or CRM systems would be nice, but not essential.
* Competent skills using Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is important.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills are important
* An ability to work autonomously and maintain ongoing areas of responsibility is key.
