Our client, a distinguished entity within the energy sector, is actively seeking a skilled Utility Surveyor to enhance its team in Reading. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the SSE framework across locations like Portsmouth and Dartford, fostering a significant impact on large-scale energy projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform comprehensive utility surveys employing advanced surveying techniques and tools.
Accurately identify, locate, and map underground utilities encompassing water, gas, electricity, telecommunications, and sewer systems.
Use Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR), electromagnetic locators, and other surveying tools to gather data and produce precise utility maps.
Work closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to meet survey goals and deliver superior quality outputs.
Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations while operating in various environments and conditions.
Provide expert guidance and support to junior survey staff, fostering teamwork and knowledge growth.
Job Requirements:
Proven expertise in Utility Surveying, particularly in an energy-sector context.
A qualification of NVQ Level 3 or higher in Utility Mapping and a robust understanding of PAS128:2022 standard.
Skilled in applying Electromagnetic Location (EML) and Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) techniques on-site.
Experience in interpreting GPR results and ideally post-processing GPR data with dedicated software.
Proficiency in using AutoCAD or similar CAD software, along with Total Station and GPS technologies.
Familiarity with conducting basic Topographical Surveys is advantageous.
