Are you an Assistant Quarry Manager who has experience and knowledge of different methods of winning and extracting raw material?

The Assistant Quarry Manager will be responsible for assisting in the management of the quarries within the Cotswold area. You will be responsible for assisting in the achievement of targets and maximising the efficiency of the production process and ensuring the maintenance of the mobile plant fleet. Including extraction and crushing & screening equipment.

A hands-on approach to supervising quarrying operations will be necessary for managing both company staff and contractors. Whilst ensuring site safety in accordance with legislation, company processes, procedures, and planning compliance.

Responsibilities:

* Developing, coaching, and managing a highly skilled, fit for purpose and motivated team to ensure business continuity and reduce business risk

* Driving transformation and continuous improvement initiatives, whilst maintaining disciplined stock management processes

* Implementing and maintaining existing and new, Standard Operating Procedures, risk assessments and training your staff on the same

* Supervising and overseeing the safe operation of the sites and the planned preventative maintenance of all of the site’s equipment, fixed and mobile

* Investigating and reporting any unsafe or hazardous working practices and recording on company Health and Safety System

* Issuing of toolbox talks and safety briefings to your operational team

* Managing both mandatory and developmental training of the staff and keep an up-to-date training matrix

Package includes:

Monday – Friday (the occasional Saturday will be required)

You may also from time to time be required to provide support at another site in the Cotswolds.

Requirements / Qualifications:

* Knowledge and experience with different ways of winning and extracting raw material.

* Limestone aggregate experience

* Knowledge of agricultural lime and dimension stone is desirable

* Understanding of the Quarry Regulations 1999 and posse ss Reg 8.1d accredited status, and 8.1c desirable

* Understanding of techniques employed to load extracted minerals and viable options to transport extracted minerals

* Knowledge of techniques employed to load extracted minerals and viable options to transport extracted minerals

* Demonstrate performance and competency requirements for all operational roles on site including contractors and sub-contractors

* Experience and understanding of the operation of mobile equipment and the principles of their operation to produce and process a consistent product to customer and BS EN specifications minimising any waste
