Revenue Manager – Birmingham - £40K - £45K

We’re excited to be working exclusively with a leading hospitality management company, looking for a Revenue Manager for their flagship Birmingham City Centre hotel.

Responsibilities include managing the reservations and M&E team, working collaboratively with the commercial team and optimising revenue across multiple revenue streams, including large M&E space, which is a key focus for them.

Duties & Responsibilities

* Develops the hotel’s pricing, market mix and inventory strategy for rooms and conference sales. Daily reviews and implements room accommodation and rate inventory controls in Perform Price Optimisation.

* Ensuring that sales and pricing strategies are based on sound commercial judgement through effective analysis, reporting and professional and efficient utilisation of all systems, in line with company best practices and standard operating procedures.

* Preparing weekly, monthly, 6-month forecasts and budgets using appropriate systems and tools across rooms and M&E, forecasting accuracy to agreed targets.

* Ongoing research and analysis of product, price, occupancy and RGI from an agreed competitive set and researching markets to identify opportunities for event.

* Development, production and delivery of projects from proposal right up to delivery - setting, communicating and maintaining timelines and priorities on every project.

* Analysis of spend (room and non-room) and profitability by segment and account in order to support rate setting and account negotiation.

* Sets group price and acceptance parameters using analysis of pick-up trends and market conditions, in order to maximize the opportunities to confirm group business at the initial enquiry. Ensure group inventory cut-off dates are managed according to demand.

* Ensure blackout dates are reviewed and work with Front Office to ensure agreed sell-out strategies are in place.

* To support the achievement of Loyalty Program targets through the analysis of program penetration by segment and account, and to recommend actions to drive activity.

* Attends the Commercial meeting, recommends revenue generating options, agrees targets and owners for revenue actions and ensures communication and action of the outputs.

* Responsible for the communication of all price/ yield decisions to ensure that all applicable systems are updated correctly.

* Understands the composition of hotel profitability and uses this information to evaluate the business mix and to make recommendations for future rate setting and negotiation.

* Responsible for the optimal representation of the hotel’s products in all distribution channels and ensuring that relevant hotel and above-hotel commercial office team members are actively engaged in all revenue decisions by maintaining regular communication to effectively implement optimal strategies and controls.

* Ensures that tactical activity is presented in a timely and correct manner.

* Ability to clearly explain RGI and how to influence performance in the market.

* Providing leadership, motivation, direction and support to the commercial office team.
