Contechs are currently recruiting on behalf of a Luxury Automotive OEM based in Gaydon. They are looking for Vehicle buck and Prototype engineer to join their expanding team on a Contract basis.

Job Description

As a Vehicle buck and Prototype engineer main responsibilities are:

Proficient CAD user, trained on CATIA V6 Primary focus on the Clients' prototype package models, whilst also supporting other activities related to the engineering and build of technology demonstrator properties.
These require understanding and then integration of new technologies into existing or new vehicles.
Solid and surface creation, manipulation and assembly
Working in collaboration with build suppliers to create accurate physical models in challenging timescales
Accurate hard model modifications
Prototype mechanism design and build

Qualifications / Skills required

Experience in product design in at least one functional area, essential
Experience of CATIA V6 for detail or packaging design and geometric integration essential.
Well rounded knowledge of vehicle types, systems and sub systems
Hands on ability, assembly and dis-assembly, making models
Experience of negotiating solutions in an area of technical conflict
Ability to tell a data / CAD driven Engineering story that efficiently highlights status / work to do / help required.
Driving License
Working in collaboration with build suppliers to create accurate physical models from Ureols, RP parts in challenging timescales.
