Job Description
Title:  Automation Technician
Reports to:  Director of Automation
Job Description/Purpose: Implement already designed solutions to ensure quality and stability of automation systems through future expansions, replacements, or upgrades that directly impact all aspects of safety, quality, delivery, cost, innovation, and growth efforts.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Provides technical skill sets on new automation projects and process improvements.
Provide support to maintenance and technical departments as needed to minimize production downtime.
Provide training support to technical staff for new automated equipment.
Provide automation support on various shifts and remote off-hour coverage support for trouble calls, including remotely located plants.
Responsible for trouble-shooting challenging equipment/automation issues to improve manufacturing performance (yield, cycle time, reliability, etc.) and maintaining the automation systems in compliance with all applicable manufacturing standards.
Responsible for program adjustments of automated system equipment including PLC's, HMI's, Robots, CNC, and AGVs.
Responsible for providing data for process documentation of automated systems including system parameters, operation procedures, BOM, safety acceptance and supporting automated machine drawings that need updated.  
Responsible for electrical and mechanical trouble shooting of new automated systems and improved processes.
Perform other duties as required or assigned by Director of Automation.
Follow all OSHA and internal safety standards.
