Job Title: Right of Way Specialist
Location: Newton, MA
Job type and Duration: Contract (long-term)
Our client is looking to hire a Right of Way Specialist for their team in Newton, MA.
Responsibilities:
This role deals with ROW/Public Involvement working for the Encroachment Approval Program. This person will find things (pools/sheds/fences etc.) that encroach the easement and work with residents to rectify the situation for the client.
They are looking for someone who can go out & talk to folks about what's in their backyard. Someone who can have a hard conversation, someone who can have tough negotiations regarding removal etc. Experience with tense negotiations is preferred.
* Negotiate removal or establish license agreement for encroachments on client's transmission easements or fee right of way.
* Desktop review and field verification of potential encroachments
* Analyze, prepare, review, and interpret Land and Right of Way related agreements, deeds, easements, leases, permits, and licenses
* Complete rights and restriction reviews
* Research and review of real property-related documents
* Understand and interpret easement agreements
* Support translation of data from Right of Way documents into a stakeholder management database
* Complete document research as needed
* Manage and prioritize workload
* Support client needs as directed
* Efficient at working independently as well as in a team environment Requirements:
* Strong attention to detail
* Good verbal and written communication skills
* Experience with GIS and familiarity with construction drawings is preferred but not required
* A valid driver's license is required. Must meet standards to qualify for and maintain the Company's vehicle driving privileges
