Job Title: Mechanical/Electrical Commissioning Engineer

Job Description: As a Mechanical/Electrical Commissioning Engineer for a data centre construction project, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that all mechanical and electrical systems are installed, tested, and commissioned to meet the highest standards of performance and reliability. Your responsibilities will involve working closely with project managers, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to coordinate commissioning activities and ensure the successful integration of all MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Commissioning Planning and Coordination:

Develop commissioning plans, procedures, and schedules for mechanical and electrical systems in accordance with project requirements and industry standards.
Coordinate with various stakeholders including contractors, vendors, and engineering teams to ensure smooth execution of commissioning activities.
System Testing and Verification:

Conduct thorough testing and verification of mechanical and electrical systems to ensure compliance with design specifications and performance criteria.
Troubleshoot and resolve any issues identified during commissioning activities, working closely with project teams to implement effective solutions.
Documentation and Reporting:

Prepare detailed commissioning reports documenting test procedures, results, and any deviations from design specifications.
Maintain accurate records of equipment installation, testing, and commissioning activities for future reference and compliance purposes.
Quality Assurance and Compliance:

Ensure that all commissioning activities adhere to relevant safety regulations, building codes, and industry standards.
Conduct inspections and audits to verify compliance with project specifications and contractual requirements.
Training and Handover:

Provide training and technical support to operations and maintenance staff to ensure a smooth transition from construction to operational phase.
Assist in the preparation of operation and maintenance manuals, as-built drawings, and other documentation for client handover.Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certifications are a plus.
Proven experience in commissioning mechanical and/or electrical systems, preferably in data centre or mission-critical facility construction projects.
Strong understanding of HVAC, electrical distribution, fire protection, and other MEP systems commonly used in data centre environments.
Proficiency in testing and diagnostic tools, including but not limited to power meters, thermographic cameras, and data acquisition systems.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Detail-oriented approach with a focus on quality and accuracy in documentation and reporting.
Familiarity with industry standards and regulations such as ASHRAE, NFPA, and ANSI/BICSI.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced construction environment.Preferred Experience:

Prior experience working on large-scale data centre construction projects or other mission-critical facilities.
Familiarity with building automation systems (BAS) and control systems integration.
Knowledge of energy efficiency principles and sustainable design practices in MEP systems.
