Maintenance Technician

Location: Walsall
Annual Salary: £40,000
Shift Pattern:Monday - Friday
Shift Times: 08:00 - 16:00
Working Hours: 40 hours per week

About Our Client:

Our client specializes in processing used cooking oils, converting waste into valuable biofuels. As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining all processing equipment on-site, ensuring the equipment operates safely and efficiently according to maintenance schedules. Additionally, you will contribute to the development of the site's processing capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage the planned maintenance schedule and ensure accurate record-keeping.
Execute all planned maintenance activities safely, including developing risk assessments and safe systems of work, and utilizing dynamic risk assessments and permits to work.
Supervise engineering contractors as needed.
Address equipment breakdowns promptly and safely.
Support the enhancement of site processing capacity and capability, collaborating with production staff.
Develop and maintain an inventory of spare parts and components.
Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.
Requirements:
Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude with experience in maintenance/engineering within a manufacturing environment.
Multiskilled Technician experience, ideally with C&G/BTEC Level 3 or higher, or a time-served apprenticeship.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with production personnel and management.
Solid knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations within a manufacturing setting.
Strong organizational skills, with experience managing a maintenance program.
Logical and structured thinker.
Proficient in IT and written communication, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word, as well as industry-standard maintenance systems.
Clean driving license.
Willingness to work unsociable hours, including weekends and bank holidays, in line with on-call arrangements.Benefits:
