Mechanical Technician

My client are looking for a dedicated and versatile Mechanical Engineer to join their team. This role combines responsibilities in equipment preparation and testing for rental operations with global travel to support our offshore clients during equipment mobilisations and demobilisations.

Mechanical Engineer Responsibilities:

Prepare and test equipment before and after rental periods
Conduct function testing, software/firmware updates, and check cable integrity
Ensure equipment completeness against packing lists
Inspect, document, and test equipment upon return from hire
Perform visual inspections and function tests
Write detailed technical reports
Identify tasks requiring in-house or external repairs.
Ensure all equipment is ready for delivery to clients on short notice
Assist with general warehouse and delivery tasks as needed
Travel to various locations to support equipment installations, demobilisations, and offshore operations, often at short notice.
Check, inspect, and document equipment
Set up, interface, and function test equipment on-site
Troubleshoot issues to ensure successful operation.
Assist the offshore survey team as required.
Attend necessary offshore training sessions

Mechanical Engineer Requirements

5 years of experience in a commercial offshore role servicing, testing and arranging mechanical equipment
Experience with updating software and firmware on various types of equipment
Experience in preparing, handling, and packaging equipment for delivery and transport
Strong problem-solving abilities to troubleshoot and resolve issues during equipment setup and operation
Proficiency in using various hand and power tools for equipment maintenance and repair
