We're currently assisting a growing, customer-focused, accountancy services practice in Leicester with their recruitment for an Internal Accountant to aid the Finance Director for a period up to 7-8 months.

What to expect:
£35,000 pro-rata
Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 4.45pm full-time (37.5 hours)

Duties and responsibilities:
The focus of the role is to support positive cash flow, drive efficiencies and prepare accurate and timely management reports and forecasts.
Preparation of accurate and insightful monthly management accounts, KPIs and forecasts
Preparing regular cashflow forecasts and proactively managing bank accounts
Preparation of year end statutory accounts and supporting file
Process the monthly payroll (70 employees) (desirable not essential)
Accurate submission of VAT, PAYE and pension declarations
Ensuring all statutory payments are made accurately and on time
Support finance team processing purchase and sales ledger, bank reconciliations, credit control, monthly direct debits, invoicing and banking
Completion of the ICAEW Annual Returns for submission
Completion of the annual PI insurance declarations
Providing full support to the Finance Director
Skills and experience required:
Relevant experience in a similar accounting role preferably with exposure to working within an accountancy practice
Professional qualification / qualified by experience
Be a competent user of Xero (IRIS, Sage line 50, Paycircle and HSBCnet knowledge an advantage)
Have very strong IT skills with advanced Excel, including the ability to analyse and transform data using pivot tables and other techniques
Have knowledge of generally accepted accounting practices and methods
Excellent verbal and written communication skills together with a growth mindset
