Our Industrial services team are currently recruiting for: Industrial Operatives – Fire Sentry
Job Details:
* Start date: ASAP
* Rates: £11.44, OT1 £12.58, OT2 £13.73
* Location: Portsmouth
* Duration: Ongoing
* Working hours: Minimum of 38 hours per week. Various shifts ranging from 0600/0730 to 1700/1800 with a backshift from (Apply online only), arranged weekly.
Responsibilities:
Monitoring and Sentry Duties:
* Monitor ongoing hot work operations such as welding, burning, grinding, and gouging.
* Protect ship fittings and equipment before commencing work
* Keep hot work materials cool by dampening metal work or extinguishing any fires that occur
* Raise the alarm promptly in case fire or any other incident, following established protocol
Safety Measures:
* Remove all combustible items from both the hot work side and the return side.
* Keep the work area clean and tidy.
* Protect equipment and fittings that cannot be removed using fire blankets.
* Inspect adjacent compartments for paint, lagging, and other flammable materials.
Additional Responsibilities:
* Perform industrial cleaning duties as required and where necessary.
