We’re hiring for a MIG Welder to join an engineering firm based in Hazel Grove, Stockport. The successful applicant will mainly undertake the fabrication of steel support structures and lifting systems.
What’s on offer?
* £14 - £16 per hour
* Good overtime rates
* Monday -Thursday 8:30am - 5pm / early finish Friday
What will you be doing as a MIG Welder?
* Reading engineering drawings and using jigs to tack and weld components onto steel structures
* Using power tools required (Grinders/ Bandsaws, overhead cranes) to assist with the fabrication of framework
* Assembling systems and carrying out spray painting tasks where required
* Carrying out site installations on large projects
What do you need?
* Qualification in fabricator or similar
* Experience in MIG welding with steel
* Must be used to working in a busy workshop environment
* Must be competent and proficient in all steelwork fabrication processes understand technical drawing, marking out, grinding, drilling, cutting etc
* Full UK driving licence
* Forklift truck licence would be an advantage
* IPAF (training course provided if not)
* Must be able to work unsupervised using own initiative or as part of a team
