Proposal Manager

Zenith People are working with our client who are a Manufacturer based here in the North-East and are looking to recruit an experienced Tendering / Proposal Manager on a permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing business who are well established and have a bright future ahead of them.
The role is to lead and drive the tendering and proposal team to secure orders for project business to meet financial targets.
The role will be responsible for setting strategy for Projects in conjunction with Operations Manager and Project Engineering Manager.
The specific duties for the role are set out below:
* Support development of Capital Projects business strategy including bid strategy.
* Identify and implement opportunities for Engineering improvements.
* Resource planning to ensure that cost effective, high quality proposals can be delivered.
* Ensure that processes are in place to be delivered and are effectively followed up on proposals submitted with and by the sales team.
* Develop and maintain effective document control systems to ensure that all bid documentation is readily accessible throughout the project life cycle.
* Ensure that team members knowledge of our products and applications is constantly being improved and up to date with market trends.
* Efficiently produce required bid documentation in line with customer expectations and timescales agreed.
* Support the identification, evaluation and agreement of contractual modifications requested by the customer.
* Collaborate with the Project team and Supply Chain to identify, evaluate, approve and monitor vendors to support the division achieving its financial targets and longer term growth targets.
* Ensure timely completion of performance assessments, PPPs and ongoing performance and development reviews including supporting talent review process.
* Provide leadership by promoting team concepts, coaching, training, talent management and individual development.
Specification
* Qualified to a degree level.
* Experienced within the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical or similar
* Previous experience leading a team across several locations
* Ability to travel to client sites when required
* Strong engineering knowledge of capital equipment
