Special Educational Needs Teacher – Holmer Green

Supply Desk is seeking a passionate and experienced Special Education Needs (SEN) Teacher to join our team. As a SEN Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in providing tailored education and support to students with diverse learning needs, ensuring they have the opportunity to reach their full potential.

This involves supporting pupils with Autism (ASD), Social Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Mild Learning Difficulties (MLD), and various other SEN requirements on a 1:1 and small group basis, both in and out of class.

Role and responsibilities:

Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons tailored to the individual needs of students with special educational needs (SEN), including those with challenging behaviours, learning disabilities, or developmental disorders.
Adapt teaching strategies and materials to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities, ensuring accessibility and inclusivity for all students.
Provide ongoing assessment and evaluation of student progress using a variety of assessment tools and techniques to inform instructional planning and intervention strategies.
Collaborate with parents/guardians, SEN coordinators, therapists, and other professionals to develop and implement individualised education plans (IEPs) for students with SEN.
Create a positive and supportive classroom environment conducive to learning, growth, and emotional well-being, promoting positive behaviour management strategies and social-emotional development.
Utilise assistive technologies and resources to enhance student engagement and participation in the learning process.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress, behaviour incidents, and communication with teachers and parents/guardians.
Participate in professional development activities and stay updated on best practices and developments in the field of special education.
Ideal Candidate:

Good knowledge of SEN and passion to help develop the pupils learning
Hold QTS / PGCE or the equivalent (Unqualified Teachers also welcome to apply)
Someone who’s able to relate and follow the school’s ethos of working as a whole school team to ensure all the pupil's academic and emotional needs are met.
Current valid DBS or the willingness to obtain one
