Job Title – Technical Design Manager

We have a new opportunity for an experienced Technical Design Manager to manage the process of design for commercial landscape projects from tender to delivery. Coordination of drawings and technical requirements, both internally and between clientele and supply chain. Provide technical and design knowledge to the team.
Key Duties
-Coordination of suppliers designs with client and architects.
-Design workshop meetings with client/architects.
-Design workshop meetings with suppliers/draftsman.
-Attending sites for setting out and client liaison.
-Research of bespoke requirements to ensure compliance, accuracy, and durability.
-Providing suppliers with sufficient information for their design.
-Reviewing supplier drawings to ensure accuracy before submittal.
-Approval of supplier drawings for production.
-Presenting suppliers designs in uniformity with company branding and referencing.
-Producing drawings required outside of supplier scopes.
-Provide solutions and methods to overcome technical design challenges.
-Coordinating design with other interfacing contractors.
-Drawings register and revision management for each project.
-Compiling information required and submitting RFIs.
-Technical submissions, sample/finishes submissions and tracking.
-Uploading and monitoring of client document portals and procedures.
-Tracking and follow-up of design to meet project programmes.
-Communicate design influencers and changes effectively to project teams.
-Ensuring design changes remain in commercial scope or escalating otherwise.
-Design risk register/management.
-Gathering information and data for collating O&M Manuals.
Key Requirements

-Prepared to communicate outside of normal working hours if necessary,
-Be flexible on working hours if required to achieve full customer satisfaction,
-Respond to customer requests proactively and positively,
-Upsell whenever possible and report to sales team,
-Submit non-conformance reports for all problems and issues,
-Report to your manager if work load becomes unmanageable,
-Submit your weekly KPI report by 16:00 every Friday,
-Emails and phone calls to be responded to within 24 hours,
-Keep desk and working area tidy and well organised throughout the working day
Skills/Qualifications
-Manufacturing or Engineer experience.
-CAD programme skills (AutoCAD, SketchUp, Rhino or Revit)
-Solutions mindset – skills in problem solving.
-Good communication skills working as a team player
