Hales Group is seeking an HR Advisor to join our client in Beccles. The role involves supporting the delivery of an efficient and effective HR support and advisory service. You will provide first-line contact and advice on all people-related issues, ensuring compliance with internal processes and legal requirements.

39 hours per week - Mon to Thurs 8:00am – 5:00pm, Friday 8:00am – 4:00pm

Key responsibilities
Actively cultivate relationships to deliver reliable HR advisory services to managers and employees, providing guidance and influence on various issues and procedures.
Manage a wide range of employee relations (ER) matters, including managing absences, performance issues, disciplinary actions, grievances, and flexible work arrangements.
Offer advice and support to managers on occupational health referrals and return-to-work cases.
Draft contracts of employment and other HR-related documents.
Schedule and attend both informal and formal meetings and hearings, ensuring all paperwork is accurate and taking meeting notes as necessary.
Create, revise, and enforce HR policies and procedures as well as the company handbook.
Provide support to the HR Manager and step in when required
Assist in mentoring and guiding the HR team.
Consistently generate and evaluate HR data to identify trends and propose effective solutions.
Maintain and update all relevant employee records, including holiday, absence, and training records.
Participate as a project team member, supporting or leading small to medium projects to achieve business goals and continuously improve HR service delivery  
Skills and experience
Previous experience in a People or HR Advisor/Officer role
Strong knowledge and understanding of employment legislation and HR practices
Resilient and adaptable, with the ability to handle ambiguity and manage a busy, diverse workload in a sometimes complex and evolving business environment.
Proactive with excellent negotiation and influencing skills.
Capable of overcoming objections
Skilled in effectively handling complaints, grievances, disciplinaries, and appeals.
CIPD qualified, working towards CIPD qualification, or possessing equivalent experience.
