Music Teacher (Traditional & Technology)

Location:     Sidcup, Kent

Pay:              MPS & UPS +TLR (London - Outer)

Type:            Permanent (via trial contract)

Start:            September 2024

Hours:          Full-time

This school are seeking a UK-qualified teacher with QTS and the ability to deliver both traditional Music & Music Technology. This is a permanent role from September 2024. ECTs can be considered for this role and the school have a well-established support network on offer.

The formal selection process will include a school tour, an observed teaching lesson, panel interview and possibly a student council meeting.

The school itself has a good reputation, good student attainment results and has enjoyed a long-standing, collaborative and stable staff team, with many of the staff having worked at the school for 15 - 20 years. The school had previously enjoyed a 'Good' grading by Ofsted although their more recent reports (post-covid) has been graded as 'Requires Improvement'. This should be taken into context in terms of many other schools previously graded 'Good' have also had their Ofsted grading affected post-pandemic and is likely not a true representation of the school overall. The school team are working hard and making progress towards overall improvements. The school are confident in the changes they are making and are working towards restoring their 'Good' grading.

Elementa will be managing all applicants and screening their suitability for the school. Elementa are not a supply agency, we are a schools services & recruiting partner to schools. We will manage the candidate vetting & compliance and process your payroll on behalf of the school whilst on trial contract. Therefore applicants being considered for the role after pre-screening will be required to complete the registration process for Elementa. This includes full vetting & background checks and application for an Enhanced DBS Disclosure (which may be chargeable at £53.20) unless you have a current DBS subscribed to the update service.
