An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated Plumbing Trainer to join the apprenticeship department at Barnsley College. The team works with a wide range of employers to develop their Apprentices knowledge, skills and behaviours to enable them to succeed and progress within their chosen occupation/workplace. This requires a Trainer with both a learner and employer focus, with the determination to ensure students achieve their full potential.

Main duties include:

* Contribute to the continuous review and development of the curriculum

* Suggesting new ideas and innovative methods to improve teaching and learning

* Planning, co-ordination, delivery, assessment and review of the learning activities associated with Apprenticeships

* Monitor the student’s ‘off the job training’ and ensure regular contact with employers

* Preparing learners for the end-point assessment (EPA)

We offer flexible working and the autonomy to plan in your own site visits and observations in the workplace. Ideally, you will have previous knowledge and experience of Apprenticeships in some capacity, with relevant industry experience working as a Plumber.
