For our Speech Therapy Service, which is one of the largest speech therapy providers in Chicago, working with three major hospitals and 300+ home health agencies is looking for several Speech Language Pathologists for patients in Chicago and surrounding areas.
The roles and responsibilities are as follows:
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients' speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Establish accurate diagnoses and develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings.
- Develop and implement effective speech and language therapy interventions to address patients' needs.
- Provide rehabilitation services to improve communication, articulation, language expression, and swallowing function.
- Monitor and adjust treatment plans as needed to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- Maintain detailed and accurate patient records, documenting assessments, progress, and treatment plans.
- Prepare and submit timely reports to physicians, healthcare team members, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Educate patients and their caregivers on speech and language disorders, treatment plans, and home exercises.
- Guide communication strategies and techniques to facilitate optimal patient functioning.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and occupational therapists, to ensure integrated and coordinated patient care.
- Participate in regular team meetings and case conferences to discuss patient progress and treatment strategies.
- Adhere to professional and ethical standards in speech-language pathology practice.
- Stay informed about industry regulations and maintain compliance with state and federal guidelines.
Qualifications:
1. Education:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
2. Licensure and Certification:
- Valid and active state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
3. Experience:
- Minimum of [X years] of experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist, with a preference for home health experience.
4. Skills:
- Strong clinical and diagnostic skills in speech-language pathology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
