Responsibilities within your new role as IT Support Specialist

As an IT Support Specialist, you will be responsible for providing 1st and 2nd line support for all IT-related issues. This includes the maintenance and ownership of hardware such as desktops, printers, and phones. You will also be configuring, setting up, and deploying software and equipment, as well as delivering upgrades to the IT infrastructure. Your insights will be invaluable as you suggest changes to improve business processes and IT systems. Effective collaboration with third-party suppliers and service providers is crucial, and you will be expected to follow and promote cyber security best practices. Additionally, you will train and advise users on the use of various technologies.

Your personality, experience and qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should have a minimum of 2 years of professional experience in IT, with a proven track record in troubleshooting IT issues. An excellent understanding of Microsoft stack technologies, including Windows OS, AD, M365, Exchange, and OneDrive, is essential. You should also have a solid grasp of desktop, server, networking, and storage technologies. Outstanding customer service skills, effective communication with staff at all levels, and the ability to handle busy periods with a hard-working attitude are key to excelling in this position.

While not mandatory, it would be advantageous if you have experience with Windows Server, Hyper-V, Databases, RDP, and a Management Information System. Knowledge of Teams for VOIP is also desirable.
