Primary Job Purpose:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Health Club Manager to manage our Health Club, by handling the daily operations, such as hiring, training, and scheduling staff members, planning fitness programming, checking exercise equipment, and ensuring the safety and cleanliness of the Health Club. The Health Club Manager will be responsible for ensuring top quality customer service is offered to all members and guests at all times, and will also have the responsibility of attracting and retaining new and existing members.

Roles and Responsibilities:

•To beat the budgeted contribution

•To exceed all membership sales targets

•To control all costs relating to the operation of the Health Club within budget focussing particularly on payroll, maintenance, marketing and consumables

•To achieve high levels of member satisfaction monitored through member retention, ongoing feedback, and an annual survey

•To ensure the business is safe and clean at all times and that health and safety records are up to date

•To ensure all staff training in all areas is up to date

•To be responsible for managing the Time Moto system for inputting staff rotas and managing/administering working hours.

•To deal with all complaints related to the Health Club

•To lead, support and motivate Duty Managers, Lifeguards and Instructors and make sure all are fully trained to do their jobs effectively

•To work a variety of shifts in accordance with the business needs

•To provide great customer service for all members and guests, focussing on the greeting at reception, and the implementation of a membership retention programme

•To be accountable for all aspects of the Health Club operation. To work closely with, and provide support to the team

•To delegate management responsibility appropriately to other members of the management team in your absence

•To drive the departments to consistently achieve all financial targets on a monthly basis

•To oversee an effective, daily cleaning programme

•To work closely with the Marketing team to produce and implement a strategic marketing plan for the Health Club

•To work closely with the Accounts Department regarding membership subscriptions (monthly Direct Debits and annual)

•To have a good working knowledge of the Health Club computerised system (Premier Core)

•To proactively work with other Department’s within the resort, i.e. Spa, Marketing, Accounts, Reception, Bar and Restaurant, HR etc to deliver a streamlined service throughout the resort.

•As HOD to attend all meetings and training programmes as requested by the Resort Manager and/or Directors

•Current National Pool Lifeguard qualification

•Current First Aid at Work Qualification Level 3

•REPS Accredited fitness qualification Level 2

•PWTAG Pool Plant Operation qualification Level 3

•Previous management experience of a Health Club

•Working knowledge of computerised Health Club systems (Premier Core preferrable)

•Degree or equivalent level qualification
