EDI Officer
Hours: Part time, 21 hours per week
Salary: £26,000 pro-rata per year
Based: NWT HQ Norwich with some scope for Hybrid working
Covering: Norfolk.
Contract: Two year fixed term contract

This post is funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund for two years.

This is an exciting time for Norfolk’s largest conservation charity as it journeys towards its centenary in 2026 and continues to expand its vital work for Norfolk’s wildlife and supporting more people to connect with and act for nature.

As a Trust, we are Wild About Inclusion! To us, this means inspiring, empowering and engaging people from all backgrounds, cultures, identities and abilities, to change the natural world for the better. It means creating workspaces where difference is celebrated, everyone can be themselves and flourish, just like nature.

We are looking for someone to help embed our new EDI policy at NWT and to drive forward our ambition to becoming a truly inclusive organisation. Working within our Engagement Team, you will work closely with all teams across NWT to create and develop new opportunities that support people from all backgrounds to connect with and act for nature and help to increase the representation of under-served audiences amongst our staff, volunteers and supporters.

You must have a strong personal commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion and the passion to champion sustainable change both within NWT and through initiatives that widen access to nature and green spaces. With a passion for nature and excellent communication skills, you will have the ability to engage and connect with a range of audiences including people of colour, the LGBTQIA+ community and those experience disability, neurodiversity or mental health conditions.

The post will be based at NWT HQ in Norwich (with scope for hybrid working considered). However, it is expected that the role-holder will spend part of their working week working off-site and visiting partners and groups where they spend time/work.

We value respect, integrity, trust and responsibility. We want our people to be as diverse as nature itself and so we particularly encourage applications from those currently under-represented within our sector, including people from minority ethnic backgrounds and people with disabilities. We welcome people of all backgrounds and levels of experience with nature, and continually strive to improve our culture and practices. We are committed to creating a movement that recognises and truly values individual differences and identities. Please let us know if you require any adjustment processes to make our recruitment process more accessible.

Closing date for applications is midnight on Monday 3rd June 2024.
Interviews are likely to take place in person at our offices at Bewick House in Norwich on Friday 21st June.
