Senior Configuration Engineer

Location: Edinburgh (mostly remote working)

Duration: 6 month contract

Rate: £55ph UMB (Inside IR35)

Job role:

Resource support is required for the Edinburgh Configuration Management Team, to control and manage Configuration Management Activities for allocated Laser Projects in the Advance Targeting Sector of our clients business. The role will involve being the Main Configuration Engineering point of contact for the allocated advance Targeting Laser Projects.

Key Deliverables:

Provide configuration management support for the progressing of Project documentation within the allocated Laser Projects in the Advance Targeting Sector -

The completion of tasks as allocated/assigned in the PDM Tool (Teamcenter Unified).
Collating the Change Impact assessments from TRB (Technical Review Boards)
Supporting the Change Initiator and Technical Review Board (TRB) through consultation
Preparing agenda, calling and chairing the CRB (Configuration Review Boards)
Implement, Planning and Co-ordination into both the design and physical product

Responsibilities:

The role will include both documentation and hardware configuration activities including the following -

DOCUMENTATION:

Review and verify documentation is suitable for progressing based on the set guidelines
Manage the approval process of new documentation
Manage the processing of updates to existing documentation
Record, distribute and control the documentation received from internal/external parties

HARDWARE:

Managing the processing of Problem Reports from initiation to final disposition
Managing Trials Modifications to support Problem Report investigations and ensuring results of trials are captured
Managing the processing of Change Requests from initiation to final disposition
Collating the Change Impact assessments from TRB (Technical Review Boards)
Supporting the Change Initiator and Technical Review Board (TRB) through consultation
Determining if fast track criteria is met and route Change using the Fast-Track workflow
Preparing agenda, calling and chairing the CRB (Configuration Review Boards)
Setting POE (Point Of Embodiment) & Priority if changes for implementation
Determining Change Classification based on set criteria
Implement, Planning and Co-ordination into both the design and physical product

Skills required:

The successful candidate should have -

Familiarity with Databases, especially PDM/PLM Toolset (Teamcenter).
Experience in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of applications.
Strong administration skills
Good attention to detail
Requires to be security cleared for reviewing Restricted/Official & Secret Documentation
