Engineering Shift Manager - FMCG

Position: Engineering Shift Manager – double days Monday to Friday
Salary: Competitive, circa £55,000 per annum, plus bonus and benefits
Role Overview: As the Engineering Shift Manager, you will be a vital driving force behind the maintenance and operational efficiency of our client's food manufacturing facility. You will spearhead a team of skilled engineers and collaborate closely with other departments to ensure seamless production processes, uphold quality standards, and optimize equipment performance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Daily Meetings. Active participation of daily meetings and responsibility for allocated follow up actions.
* Responsible for the accuracy of all company information displayed on company notice boards within the Engineering meeting room for the designated area.
* To plan the Preventative Planned Maintenance schedule for the designated area.
* To plan PM and corrective works for nights and weekend teams to carry out through the planning meetings.
* Ensure PM compliance per designated area.
* Motivation of total team to meet production and engineering targets and efficiencies.
* Ensure staffing levels are reviewed and managed on a daily basis and escalated to the Senior Engineering Manager with appropriate recommendations in place if required. This will include holidays, absence and training cover.
* The purpose of this role is to ensure the smooth running of all machinery in the designated production area via the Lead Engineers and Multi-skilled Engineers. Plans, organises and co-ordinates the total activities and resources of their areas of responsibility. Responsible for the safety, quality and legality of all products and processes within the department
Qualifications and Experience:
* Proven experience in engineering supervisory/team leader/management role within the manufacturing industry, with extensive leadership experience.
* Strong technical background with expertise in maintenance and reliability practices.
* Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with a track record of fostering a collaborative and high-performing engineering team.
* In-depth understanding of health and safety regulations, quality standards, and compliance requirements.
* Proficiency in implementing maintenance strategies, including predictive and preventative maintenance.
* Strong project management skills, capable of prioritising tasks and delivering results within deadlines.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to liaise effectively with internal stakeholders and external partners.
