Electrical Design Engineer

A global provider of bespoke safety solutions are looking for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join their multi-skilled team based in Bredbury, Stockport.
You’ll be part of a dynamic and forward-thinking organisation who reward those that are driven to providing exceptional service. Becoming an integral member of the team, you’ll be given exposure to critical orders from sizeable, global customers.

* £50,000 per annum
* Performance related bonus scheme (up to 15% of salary)
* Monday – Friday 8:00am – 4:30pm (early finish on Fridays)

What will you be doing as an Electrical Design Engineer?
* Interpreting/developing client’s standards and technical specifications to enable the sales team to offer the best solutions to the customer
* Completing datasheets for electrical/instrumentation devices/equipment
* Reviewing and approving sub-vendor/sub-suppliers technical quotations (tender package) and evaluating it against projects requirements
* Transferring electrical designs to 2D CAD drawings, submitting completed drawings to the documentation controllers and making the relevant amendments
* Providing support to the sales team when quoting for and finalising orders
* Working closely with production team and the purchasing department, providing proactive support during the procurement and manufacturing stages of an order
What do you need?
* Degree qualified in a relevant discipline i.e. CEng Electrical Engineering
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in an Electrical Engineering role
* Experience in a high variation, low volume manufacturing environment
* Knowledge of industrial standards: BS 7671, ATEX and IEC-(phone number removed) essential
* An industrial electrical design qualification or similar
* Knowledge of different LV Voltage Levels / Power Supplies (3-Phase & Single Phase)
* Familiarity with Field Instruments such as Switches, Temperature Sensors, Transmitters, etc.
* Knowledge of 2D AutoCAD and Microsoft Office
