Details:
Salary £40,000 to £55,000 DOE
MUST be eligible for DV clearance
Hybrid working with 1-2 days per week working from our office in North Bristol. There may be occasional attendance to customer sites in the West Midlands and South West as required, and attendance at periodic workshops, hackathons, all-hands sessions etc
About the role:
TwinStream’s IT Systems Administrator will maintain and administer the organisation’s IT estate. The IT Systems Administrator will report to the Chief Technical Officer.
Responsibilities:
Experience with some, but not necessarily all, of the tools and technologies (or equivalents) listed below -
* Maintain and deploy laptops (Dell XPS, Apple MacBook Pro) and mobile devices (Google Pixel, Apple iPhone)
* Build and maintain operating systems (Windows 11+, macOS 14+, Ubuntu Linux 22+, Android 14+, iOS/iPadOS 17+)
* Build and maintain portable WiFi routers running OpenVPN client
* Administer JML processes
* Provide 1st and 2nd line IT support (inc. use and administration of Jira Service Management)
* Administer MDM and EDR tools and agents (e.g., Intune, Jumpcloud, Qualys VMDR and Microsoft Defender)
* Administer Microsoft365
* Administer SaaS corporate tools (e.g., Afi, Xoralia, 1Password Business and Exclaimer)
* Maintain IT asset register (in Jira Service Management)
* Administer Atlassian tools (e.g., Confluence, Jira Software, BitBucket and Access)
* Maintain VPNs (IPSec and OpenVPN)
* Administer Cloud subscriptions (AWS Organisations, Accounts and limited IaaS, and Azure Tenants, Subscriptions, Entra ID and limited IaaS)
* Maintain and administer various IaaS tools (e.g., Jenkins, Nexus and SonarQube)
* Maintain and administer CA server, certificate distribution and certificate revocation
* Administer and distribute Yubikeys and MFA hardware tokens
* Administer and maintain a small number (<10) of “lab” servers, and a small number (<10) of “lab” devices such as remote power switches, routers, firewalls, VPNs and a small number of niche products using “remote hands” as required
* Administer DNS and DHCP for internal lab networks
* Administer SIEM tooling and report/escalate incidents and events as appropriate
* Administer information protection tooling (e.g., Microsoft Purview)

* Strong multi-tasker – able to carry out long-running tasks while sometimes context-switching to deal with incidents and issues, before resuming long-running tasks
* Proactive, flexible and adaptable
* Excellent critical thinking skills and intellectual curiosity
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Self-motivated and able to work independently, driving initiatives forward
* The successful candidate must be eligible for DV clearance
Desirable Skills:
* Experience of accreditations such as Cyber Essentials Plus and ISO 27001
* Experience of working within organisations that serve UK public sector customers
* Experience of agile methodologies
* Experience of writing and maintaining IT-related policies
* Experience of automation and Infrastructure as Code
