Title: Data Analyst
Location: Oak Brook, IL (100% onsite)
Salary: 75k 80k
Duration: Permanent Hire
Status: Exempt
Reports To: Director of MIS
Purpose
To collect and analyze data in order to create meaningful information that the company can use to improve and grow.
Job Functions
Essential
* Oversees and manages a program of projects focused on sourcing new datasets, building a controls framework ensuring those datasets have high quality ratings.
* Proactively analyzes data to answer key questions for stakeholders on what drives business performance; investigates and communicates which areas need improvement in efficiency and productivity.
* Drives an understanding of and adherence to the principles of data quality management including metadata, lineage, and business definitions.
* Plans and executes data catalog and data quality-related activities using a combination of vendor and in-house tools.
* Utilizes excellent data analysis skills with proficiency in SQL programming language.
* Creates and maintains existing reporting infrastructure (SAP BI Platform).
* Accurately and efficiently translates business data and process requirements into reporting solutions (Crystal Reports).
* Works closely with others as-needed to understand and maintain focus on analytics needs, including critical metrics and KPIs, and delivers actionable insights to relevant decision-makers.
* Designs, develops, and deploys Tableau dashboards and reports to meet company business requirements, objectives, and goals.
* Works with senior leadership teams to define best practices, gather requirements, provide status updates, and strengthen data analysis function.

Physical Requirements
* Regularly uses a keyboard/mouse to interact with a computer.
* Regularly required to communicate verbally and via writing.
* Occasionally lifts or carries objects weighing up to 20 lbs.
Educational/Required Skills & Responsibilities
* Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in mathematics, computer science, economics, or statistics.
* Minimum five years of work-related experience.
* Proven success in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
* Expert skills with Microsoft Office, including Excel.
* Knowledge of relational databases and data warehouse concepts (Oracle).
* Knowledge of data visualization best practices and principles.
* Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
Preferred Skills/Experience
* Knowledge of Python programming language.
* Advanced analytics experience, classification/predictive modeling, optimization models, and forecasting.
* Proficiency in query performance tuning.
