Our client is a recognised player in the food manufacturing sector with a well-established factory based in Manchester. They provide a variety of high-quality dishes to numerous retail and food service customers.

Position Overview

The Process/NPD Technologist will play a fundamental role in the company's ongoing restructuring and growth strategy. You'll oversee new recipes from initial customer approval all the way to factory production, including conducting factory trials and first production runs. Through cost reduction projects and ensuring compliance with the business HACCP and Quality Management Systems, you will actively contribute to a critical strategic shift.

Responsibilities

* Manage the Stage and Gate process that includes feasibility studies and pre-launch and post-launch meetings.

* Create sample submission forms and support customer presentations and Quality Assurance sessions.

* Oversee the scaling up of new recipes to factory production.

* Conduct raw material trials and review new raw material specifications.

* Complete trial reports and make change recommendations to SMT.

* Attend regular production meetings and update on ongoing project status.

* Assist with food labelling, customer specifications, and packaging approval sign off.

Requirements

* Food Science Degree or equivalent

* A minimum of 3 years' relevant experience

* Proficiency in electronic specification/recipe systems

* Demonstrable experience in project management and hands-on experience in retail and food service

* Strong communication, listening, influencing skills at all levels.

* Proven experience in managing a team and cost reduction projects.

* Formal HACCP training and Legal Labels training
