Cnc Miller Setter Operator

An exciting CNC Miller position has become available in Bitton at a precision engineering company.

Job Title: CNC Miller Setter Operator

Shift: Double Days

Rate: Up to £20 p/h including shift allowance

The Job:

* As a CNC Setter Operator your role involves the setup, operation, and maintenance of CNC machines.

* Your expertise in machine setup, and precision machining will ensure the production of high-quality parts that meet strict industry standards and specifications.

* You will work closely with engineers, and other manufacturing personnel to achieve efficient and accurate machining operations.

The ideal candidate:

* Experience in setting up CNC machines, including installing workpieces, fixtures, cutting tools.

* Ability to set Work Shifts including 4th Axis and Trunions.

* Ability to select and install appropriate cutting tools, tool holders, and fixtures for the machining process.

* CNC Setter/Operators must have a keen eye for detail and the ability to monitor the machining process closely, making adjustments to tooling or machine settings as necessary to maintain precision and quality.

* In-depth knowledge and experience in operating CNC machines, specifically Heidenhain & Fanuc Controls

* Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.

* Strong understanding of CNC programming languages (e.g., G-code).

* Capability to identify and resolve common CNC machine issues, such as tooling problems.

* Proficiency in conducting routine machine maintenance and cleaning to ensure optimal performance.

* Knowledge of machine calibration and alignment procedures to maintain accuracy and precision.

* To be confident in the recalibration of both Probes & OTS measuring Equipment

* Ability to document and maintain accurate production records, including setup sheets, tool lists & kits

* Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies, machining techniques, and process improvements.

* Adherence to safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.

* Knowledge of machine guarding, lockout/tagout procedures, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
