Training and developmentAbout the Role: We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician to join our team at our clients Magor location. As a Mechanical Technician, you will play a crucial role in carrying out planned and reactive maintenance to support our high-speed packaging line, production, and utilities areas. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment and contribute to the efficiency, quality, and safety of the plant operations.
Key Experience and Qualifications:
Essential:

Recognised apprenticeship, NVQ3, or equivalent mechanical/industrial qualification
ONC or equivalent
Experience in a multi-disciplined industrial engineering functionDesirable:

Experience working within an FMCG environment
HNC or equivalentMain Responsibilities: As a Mechanical Technician, your responsibilities will include:

Undertaking planned and reactive maintenance activities
Identifying continuous improvement opportunities
Developing safety and maintenance procedures
Liaising with suppliers for spare parts/services
Supporting the development of a high-performance culture
Recording maintenance activities in the management system
Analysing machines to improve performance
Carrying out quality inspections
Controlling maintenance tools, stores, and equipment
Monitoring and controlling maintenance costs
Writing, reviewing, and updating maintenance SOPsKey Skills and Competencies:

Proactive and self-managed with a can-do attitude
Excellent communication skills
Understanding of Continuous Improvement and Food Safety protocols
Ability to work effectively in a team and with external contractors
