Bridgestone Group are working with one of South Wales' fastest growing construction companies, recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor on a permanent contract. Out client are recruiting following sustained periods of growth, with a strong portfolio of current and future proijects secured in the house building, commercial and local authority sectors.
The Role:
The successful Quantity Surveyor will be based from the companies headquarters in South Wales (Swansea region) with the expectation to be mobile where required to access projects accross South Wales.
Working within the commercial team, the successful Quantity Surveyor will play a crucial role in preparing commercial costs, ensuring effective cost management of construction projects, budget management and ensuring regulations are followed at all times.
Responsibilities:
* Prepare project estimates & costs for clients
* Liaise with subcontractors for quotes and ensure agreed rates are adhered to with subcontractor orders
* Conduct cost control and cost estimation for construction projects
* Management of project budgets, including material and labour costs
* Review site contracts, specifications, and drawings
* Work with project teams to achieve budgetary constraints
* Manage risk mitigation strategies
* Prepare bills of quantities
* Assist in the preparation of tender documents and bid evaluation
* Conduct site contracts meeting
Experience/Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or similar
* Proven track record as a Quantity Surveyor
* Proficient utilisation of cost estimation software
* Attention to detail and problem solving skills
* Excellent communicator
