We have a wonderful opportunity for an enthusiastic and proactive Support Worker Support Worker with a full clean driving licence to join the support team of a young man with a brain injury living with his family in the Dewsbury area.

You will support and contribute towards the planning and delivery of individual care, supporting in all aspects of daily living as our client has physical, sensory & cognitive disabilities and is wheelchair dependent.

Successful applicants will receive full support, training and supervision from the established support team and Case Manager.

What you'll be working:

18 hours per week

2 / 3 day shifts per week on a rota basis including some Saturdays & occasional Sundays with a degree of flexible working to support the pursuit of interests in live music.

Extra shifts will be available to cover holidays.

What you will be doing:

Assist the client to exercise choice and control over their own lives as far as they are able in everyday matters but taking into consideration cognitive problems

Liaise with and support the family as required

*

Assist the client with personal care as needed

*

Work with the treating team of therapists (SALT, Physiotherapist & Occupational Therapist) to complete therapy programmes, motivate & engage the client in recreational & educational activities

*

Supporting the client to use local amenities such as shops and leisure facilities and attend community events

*

Follow the service user plan as documented for the client

*

Maintain accurate and confidential records

*

Participate in moving and handling procedures as specified for the client

*

Maintain professional boundaries with the client and their family members, adhering to direction from the case manager as appropriate

About you:

* Full, clean UK driving licence – experience of driving a wheelchair accessible vehicle preferable but not essential

* Experience of delivering therapy programmes is desirable but full training will be provided.

* Dependable and professional - you value honesty and discretion

* Experience of working with young adults with physical & cognitive impairment is essential, the position is suited to someone who has a positive attitude plus the ability to motivate & engage.

* Previous experience working with clients with brain injury is preferable

* Friendly and approachable

* Successful candidates will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS and enrol in the DBS update service

* Flexible and you work well under pressure

CCMS are not an employment agency - we help our clients to recruit their own support workers as part of our case management service, You will be employed directly by the client, however, CCMS oversee all aspects of the clients care package on her behalf.

CCMS offer a bespoke Case Management Service for people of all ages, with a particular emphasis on those recovering from acquired brain injuries.
