CAD Manager

SummaryPlans, organizes and manages the team of CAD Technicians & Electrical Designers in the execution of projects utilizing 3D SolidWorks Design Software to produce Initial Drawing packages.  
1.     Drives enhancements within the Design team on the execution of Initial Drawings in 3D SolidWorks Design Software for both Structural and Electrical construction ensuring quality deliverables are achieved for customer satisfaction.  
2.     Track and measure project hours estimate vs. actual, identifying resources and schedule for projects the CAD team will execute that are in alignment with the Master Schedule.
3.     Provide guidance and direction to the Lead CAD Engineers and CAD team to ensure operational and technical excellence.  
4.     Work in support of engineering tools, process automation, and reporting by collaborating with Application Development team and CAD Administrator. 
5.     Develop, test and train associates on workflow processes for product development, change management, NPD, and quality management. 
6.     Provide technical advice and/or expertise in problem resolution and where necessary on assigned projects. 
7.     Identify opportunities and recommend, implement initiatives that will increase throughput and maximize efficiency within the department.  
8.     Manage flow of work to internal resources and subcontract resources maximizing throughput and enabling flexibility and ongoing training of team.
9.     Maintain component libraries and ensure compliance in utilizing these directories to increase standardization and reduced cycle time in execution of Initial Drawings.  
10.   Work with Project Managers with a focus on meeting the customer expectations with deliverables on Initial Drawings. 
11.   Evaluate team members for their technical skills, performance and productivity.   
Provide communication, work direction, coaching, training and guidance for direct reports.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in the Engineering field; Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Architectural, etc.
3+ years of Management experience with direct reports that include; Detailers & Designers that utilize 3D Software. 
Effective working knowledge of Microsoft Office, knowledge of SolidWorks suite of tools is a must.
