Job Summary:We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The Staff Accountant will play a key role in supporting various accounting functions, including financial reporting, reconciliations, and analysis. This position is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in accounting principles and a desire to grow within the field.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in preparing and maintaining financial records, including general ledger entries, bank reconciliations, and journal entries.
Participate in month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.
Prepare and analyze financial statements, balance sheets, and income statements to assess accuracy and identify variances.
Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including processing invoices, payments, and collections.
Reconcile and analyze accounts, investigating discrepancies and implementing corrective actions as needed.
Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities, providing insights and recommendations based on financial analysis.
Conduct regular audits of financial procedures and practices, ensuring compliance with regulations and company policies.
Collaborate with other departments to provide financial support and insights for decision-making.
Assist with the implementation and maintenance of accounting systems and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Stay informed about changes in accounting standards, regulations, and best practices, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement.
Provide support during external audits, including preparing supporting documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
Handle ad hoc projects and tasks as assigned by management.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
1-3 years of experience in accounting or a related role.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
CPA certification or progress toward CPA certification is preferred but not required.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Proactive attitude and willingness to take initiative to drive process improvements.
Strong work ethic and commitment to accuracy and integrity in financial reporting.
