ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW
Founded in 2004, Brilliant Corners provides innovative housing and housing-related services to California’s most vulnerable individuals, with an emphasis on those transitioning from, or at risk of, homelessness or institutionalization. We develop, own, and manage multi-family supportive housing and licensed residential care homes. We implement a broad array of scattered-site, one-on-one supportive housing, and clinical case management programs through partnerships with developmental services, homeless services, veterans’ services, and health care sectors.

WHAT IS A DEPUTY CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER?
Brilliant Corners is seeking an accomplished Deputy Chief Operating Officer (DCOO) to lead our agency-wide operations. The Operations Department has historically supported the agencies robust program operation needs in Los Angeles and is now on a transformative journey to extend its impact and systematic approach across all agency operations statewide. The new DCOO will set and implement a vision to expand the departments impact, informed by collaborations with Program Directors, Housing Services staff, Property Management and Housing Development leads, as well as liaising with the agencies Finance and Data & Technology support teams.     
The Deputy Chief Operating Officer will be expected to have a proven track record of leadership in operations, a strategic mindset, and a passionate commitment to housing accessibility for all. An in-depth understanding of contracting, budgeting, and operational standardization in a non-profit setting, preferably within housing development and services, is essential. This role requires a champion of customer service and cross departmental collaboration, exemplifying a solutions-oriented mindset in all interactions with funders and stakeholders throughout California.

Responsibilities
Strategic Vision: Articulate and implement a clear vision for the expanded Operations Department, aligning it with the organization's strategic goals and values. Define clear metrics for success and drive the department towards achieving these milestones.
Operational Excellence: Oversee and optimize agency-wide program operations, ensuring seamless integration of workflows and processes. Your role will be to ensure that our operations are as robust and responsive as the communities we serve.
Team Management: Lead a diverse team of professionals spread across a vast geography, nurturing an environment where continuous learning and empowerment are the norm.
Financial Stewardship: Bring a high level of financial acumen to oversee budgeting activities and resource allocations, ensuring sustainability and strategic use of funds.
Expansion Initiatives: Strategically expand the department's reach into new areas such as facilities management, risk management, and compliance, aligning with long-term organizational objectives.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Build bridges across functions, working closely with Program Directors, Housing Services, Property Management, Housing Development, Finance and Data & Technology teams, to deliver cohesive service offerings.
Funder and External Partner Relations: Engage with funders and partners, representing Brilliant Corners with exceptional customer service and a persistent solutions-focused attitude.
DEIB Commitment: Contribute to the Leadership Team’s decisions, upholding the agency's commitment to DEIB and exemplifying these principles in leadership and organizational practices.
Requirements
Professional Experience
At least 10 years working in business or program operations. Preference for candidates who have worked in mission-oriented settings.
At least 8 years building and managing a team.
Demonstrated leadership as evidenced by increasing levels of responsibility and management over the course of the candidate’s career.

Proficiency with MS Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel. Experience with Salesforce a plus.

Salary range for this position is $170,000 - $180,000 annually. This position is being offered at $170,000 - $180,000 annually.
