Job Description
The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification.  These are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all job duties performed by personnel so classified.
1.    Manages and troubleshoots the CMMS. Identifies opportunities to upgrade or replace hardware/software to meet the current and future needs of its users and management, recommends changes, and participates in the acquisition, implementation and follow-on management of purchase.
2.    Ensures system, software, training, and reports accurately and effectively functioning with the most current versions and applications. Participates in requisite CMMS training and education and keeps abreast of software changes in order to remain informed of its use and function. 
3.    Coordinates the planning, design and establishment of data entry standards used in the CMMS. Establishes, reassigns, revises or deletes records in key data tables in response to system user’s requirements as applied through use of departmental policies and procedures. 
4.    Designs security levels for individuals and groups in accordance with the guidelines and objectives provided by the appropriate user group’s management. 
5.    Design and implement redundant systems, policies, and procedures for disaster recovery and data archiving to ensure effective protection and integrity of data assets.
6.    Develops and manages standards/procedures for entering system-wide information, and setting system defaults for each site. 
7.    Coordinates with Clinical Engineering/Operations and Maintenance, Information Technology (IT) and CMMS users to facilitate the importing and exporting of equipment inventory and other data.
8.    Develop and document routines, diagrams, and reports that end-users can use to facilitate support and best practices in database use and management.
9.    Monitors the change process for system procedures and standards. Evaluates change proposals, coordinates change development, and implements change. Develops test and evaluates application responses to changes in operating, applications, and data environments. 
10.    Coordinates the interface between, Clinical Engineering/Operations and Maintenance, Purchasing, Materials Management and IT to support the maintenance/functionality of the CMMS.
11.    Maintains regular contact with users and supervisor/manager regarding status of open or pending service calls.
12.    Design and implement proper business practices for database life cycle and provide recommendations of implementation in an enterprise environment.
13.    Develop database testing plans and implementation strategies and ensure junior staff compliance with documented process.
