Maintenance Engineer

Due to continued business growth our client wish to recruit a Maintenance Engineer with experience within the playground industry. We offer the opportunity to join an established UK organisation as part of a dedicated technical support and project management team, focusing on delivering ongoing play area maintenance and repairs on time and within budget. The role will be based from our offices in Northamptonshire, but will involve national travel, and occasional stopping away.

The Role:

Our Engineers will work nationally and be responsible for scheduled play area repairs and inspections to Play Equipment. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the longevity, safety, and functionality of our play structures. You will be responsible for conducting regular inspections, preventive maintenance, and necessary repairs to guarantee a safe and enjoyable experience for children and families.

Salary: £28,000 - £32,000

Location: Northampton

Hours: 8am - 5pm

Key Responsibilities:

Perform routine inspections of playscapes to identify and address any safety concerns or maintenance requirements.
Conduct preventive maintenance on play equipment to extend its lifespan and minimize downtime.
Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and structural issues in a timely and efficient manner.
Collaborate with the design and installation teams to provide input on maintenance-friendly designs for new playscapes.
Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, including inspection reports, repairs, and replacements.
Stay informed about industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to playscape maintenance.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies to ensure minimal disruption to play areas.
Undertaking general play area and landscape maintenance, which involves metal, woodworking, painting and welding, if necessary.

Key Competencies/Qualifications:

Good fitting or assembly type skills, preferably with experience in a maintenance environment as well as welding experience is desirable.
Understanding of costs and time required to undertake remedial work.
A problem solver with good customer service and communication skills.
Good communication and reporting skills.
A self-motivated individual who continually keeps abreast of industry and safety requirement changes.
Ability to travel on a daily basis, with national stopping away as required, so a full driving license is required.
