Warehouse Solutions Design Lead

Location: Hybrid role with travel (UK)

As part of its continued growth journey, this multiple award-winning logistics business, known for its commitment to sustainability and with an industry-leading reputation, is searching for a talented Warehouse Solutions Design Lead.

In this newly created role, you'll collaborate closely with teams across sales, operations, delivery, and technology to understand client requirements, develop comprehensive solutions and drive the successful execution of projects. You’ll be a commercially aware individual with a wealth of experience in logistics solutions design gained from numerous projects across a range of industry sectors and supply chain strategies.

You’ll be responsible for:

* Supply chain analysis and solutions design process engineering and improvement

* Business communication, e.g. report writing, presentations.

* Utilising your deep understanding of logistics technology, including warehouse management systems (WMS) and supply chain analytics, to design robust and scalable solutions.

* Leading the implementation of logistics solutions from concept to delivery.

* Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure projects are executed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.

* Developing Supply Chain Service solutions to meet external clients’ requirements.

* Data analyst and interpretation of customer requirements.

* Leading subject matter expert in warehouse/storage design, transport and IT requirements.

* Client-facing, presenting proposed solutions, addressing technical inquiries, and providing insights to optimize their supply chain operations.

* Project design, costing, risk mitigation, implementation of timelines and full presentation of proposed solution to client executives and internal leadership team.

* Staying abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in logistics and supply chain management.

* Identifying opportunities for process improvement and innovation to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of our solutions.

* Leading the design of end-to-end manual and automated warehouse solutions covering the areas of: Data Analysis, Process flow creation, Equipment selection, Layout design, Resource modelling and Cost Modelling.

You’ll bring the following skills and experience:

* A successful background in 3PL Operational Project Management & Process Engineering roles.

* Strong Microsoft Office & IT skills, particularly Excel, and considerable expertise of using scheduling software.

* Experience of modelling tools like CAST, CLASS, Paragon, AutoCAD or similar

* Experienced in analysing large data sets, identifying trends and causes of the trends.

* Team player but self-motivated

* Deep knowledge and understanding of WMS systems

* Ideally - bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Engineering, Computer Science or a related field. Master's degree preferred

* Prince2 or other project management qualifications would be an advantage (not essential)

* Excellent analytical skills

* Great relationship-building skills - able to work with customers and/or prospects to understand RFQ requirements

* Customer-oriented with strong problem-solving skills

* Ability to work under pressure, be well organized and to meet deadlines.
