Job Summary:

The Tandoori Chef will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of tandoori dishes, ensuring the highest quality standards are met. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with tandoor cooking techniques and a deep understanding of Indian spices and marinades. This role requires creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a high-pressure environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Preparation and Cooking:

Prepare and cook a variety of tandoori dishes, including meats, breads, and vegetables, using traditional tandoor ovens.

Ensure all dishes are prepared to the highest quality standards, with attention to taste, texture, and presentation.

Marinate and season food according to traditional Indian recipes and techniques.

Menu Contribution:

Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop and refine the tandoori section of the menu.

Suggest new dishes and creative variations on traditional tandoori recipes.

Kitchen Operations:

Maintain a clean and organized workstation, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

Monitor the condition of tandoor ovens and report any maintenance or repair needs.

Manage inventory levels of tandoori-specific ingredients and supplies.

Team Collaboration:

Work closely with other kitchen staff to coordinate and ensure timely preparation and delivery of orders.

Assist in training junior staff members on tandoori cooking techniques and best practices.

Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.

Quality Control:

Conduct regular quality checks to ensure consistency in taste and presentation.

Address any customer feedback or concerns related to tandoori dishes promptly and professionally.

Stay updated on industry trends and continuously seek ways to improve and innovate.

Qualifications:

Proven experience as a Tandoori Chef or similar role in a high-volume Indian cuisine restaurant.

Expertise in traditional tandoori cooking techniques and the use of tandoor ovens.

Strong understanding of Indian spices, marinades, and flavor profiles.

Ability to work efficiently under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to culinary excellence.

Strong communication and teamwork skills
