Cybersecurity and Digital Risk Attorney

Direct Counsel has teamed up with a leading law firm who is actively seeking mid- to senior-level associates to join its renowned Digital Risk Advisory and Cybersecurity team to collaborate with their regional, national and multinational clients. Ideal candidates will have 4+ years of experience in a law firm or in-house as well as privacy and cybersecurity breach response experience, or litigation experience with a demonstrated interest in privacy and cybersecurity breach response work. This position is open to candidates in Los Angeles, San Francisco or Costa Mesa, California.
Responsibilities:
The associate's practice will revolve around proactive and reactive privacy and data protection compliance matters. Key areas of focus include advising on privacy and security obligations, state, federal, and international data security incident notification obligations, and defending regulatory investigations related to privacy and security.

Qualifications:
Law firm or in-house privacy and cybersecurity breach response experience, or litigation experience with a demonstrated interest in privacy and cybersecurity breach response work.

Effective and persuasive writing and oral communication skills.
Ability to manage a fast-paced, complex workload while maintaining priorities and anticipating issues.
Motivation to learn and understand technology and forensic investigations.
Professional commitment and interpersonal skills necessary for success in a collaborative team environment.
Expected Annual Salary:
Mid-level associate position: $270,000 – $350,000.
Salary offered will be determined by factors such as experience level, education/training, and relevant skills.
Associates participate in a performance and hours-based bonus program.
