This is a seasonal role from April 2024 through early November 2024
THE JOB
Completing all tasks assigned by the Executive Chef
Using commercial kitchen equipment to prep food items
Preparing ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and other meal prep
Measuring ingredients and seasonings to be used in cooking according to recipes
Labeling and stocking all ingredients so they can be organized and easily accessible
Setting up workstations with necessary ingredients and equipment so that food can be prepared quickly
Undertaking basic cooking duties, such as making sauces and preparing simple dishes
Working efficiently to maximize production
Checking food quality at all points of preparation, transportation and delivery on-site
Cleaning and sanitizing the kitchen space as required
Ensuring that all food and other items are stored properly and sanitary regulations are followed at all times
QUALIFICATIONS
Cooking experience required, including experience as a line chef, restaurant cook, or prep cook
Familiar with industry’s best practices
Must possess the ability to handle multiple tasks at a time
Must be willing to work nights, weekends and holidays.
Must have NYC Food Protection Certificate
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to work on your feet as well as stationary for at least 10 hours
Must be willing to work long shifts, including overnight shifts if needed.
Must be able to move, pull, carry or lift at least 50 pounds
COMPENSATION
Hourly range for this role is $20-22.
