Design Lead

Kingsley Consulting are partnered with a highly prestigious Construction Contracting Group to help appoint a Design Lead within their Technical Design team.  
 
As Design Lead you will be working closely with the Head of Design for the business, to oversee the Design team’s day to day delivery output, supporting all design projects to ensure all are completed successfully, on-time and within budget.    
 
Salary: circa £50,000 + Bonus       
Benefits: Company Bonus, Pension, Private Healthcare
Location: Hybrid- 2 days a week in North West Office (Merseyside)

Key Responsibilities  
Responsible for the day-to-day direction and support of the design team and leading the delivery output of design projects in line with customer specifications, costings, budget and estimations
Oversee the preparation, set up and structure of company designs, drawing standards and templates
Attend project meetings to outline design requirements, any necessary amendments, identify any potential issues and clarify scope of works with key project stakeholders.
Managing customer and stakeholder expectations, providing regular updates and progress meetings across each design project’s life-cycle.  
Managing any risk factors/issues that may be encountered in an efficient and effective manner whilst maintaining communication and updates with the customer and internal teams.
Ensuring that the design teams output complies with the companies documented Quality Management System to ISO 9001.
Liaison with the wider technical team as necessary to ensure that the quality and adequacy of the work is of the highest standard.
Personal contribution to the Companies Design output, as may be necessary to meet a specific requirement.
Implement changes and improvements to working practices and/or systems within the departments operations.  
Individual Requirements
Experience in a Senior Design / Design Lead position
Ability to oversee and support a technical design team’s day-to-day operation
Knowledge in either construction, building envelope, roofing, waterproofing or facades would be beneficial but other relevant experience areas would be considered
Project and design management experience.
Knowledge of Revit and/or AutoCAD
Strong leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Client interface at senior level
Relevant design degree or certification.
