Host/Hostess (restaurant in Birgu)

We are looking for a Host/Hostess to join our team in Birgu.

Duties and responsibilities

A Hostess is responsible for making sure that the customer has the best possible experience. Their day-to-day duties include:

• Managing bookings,over the phone, email and social media
• Providing waiting times to customers who are not pre-booked
• Creating an appropriate atmosphere for guests that’s in line 
• Providing a point of contact for customer feedback and helping to resolve any customer issues
• Providing personalised service and assistance for large parties of guests
• Ensuring cleanliness and hygiene standards are met in the front of house area
• Assisting with the opening and closing of the restaurant
• Learning the food and beverage menu
• Seat guests at designated tables and take drink orders, if necessary
• Answer questions about the food and beverage menu, as needed
• Other tasks requested by restaurant manager

Requirements:

• Flexible schedule for working weekends and evenings
• Customer service skills
• Organization skills for scheduling and booking reservations and tables
• Strong verbal and written English skills (other languages would be considered a plus)
• Excellent problem-solving abilities
• Knowledge of food and beverage health and safety initiatives
• Teamwork and collaboration skills
