Engage Talent Partners are working on an exclusive project to recruit a Senior Contracts Engineer on a staff basis for an established oil and gas company based in Aberdeen.

The role of Senior Contracts Engineer will provide leadership to the contracts function and be responsible for the contractual integrity of client contracts globally.

This is a key role within the business and our client is looking for candidates with experience around the offshore sector with a strong understanding of commercial contracts. You will be involved in the tender process, reviewing terms and conditions, clarifications, contract negotiation to close out and signing. You will also take ownership of ongoing client contractual matters/disputes as well as interface with insurance brokers.

Key responsibilities:

* Understand the commercial and technical aspects of the business and the associated balance of risk and compensation.

* Supporting the tendering process, reviewing terms and conditions and clarifications

* Establish and promulgate key contracting principles.

* Support other functional entities (Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, Operations, etc.) regarding the contractual integrity of all contract commitments.

* Personally participate in contract negotiations where applicable.

* Support functional entities with handling of post-contract contractual issues and disputes resolution.

* Support the finance function with preparation of intercompany contracts when requested.

* Report to senior management concerning contractual matters.

* Support commercial and contractual learning and awareness throughout the company and disseminate best practice.

* Work closely with the rest of the Marketing Team towards continuous improvement of contract deliverables.

Suitable candidates will be qualified in Law (or similar) at degree level or above and must have previous experience in a similar contract’s role within Oil and Gas. You will be well versed in legal aspects of contracts and legislation and have an excellent understanding of the tendering process.
